Common Man Coffee Roasters was established in Singapore back in 2013. It is famous for its good coffee and all-day brunch menu such as Common Man Full Breakfast & Fluffy Brioche French Toast. The dining area is huge with different seating arrangements and there's a coffee bar counter as the highlight centerpiece. Common Man is an upscale cafe with sleek wooden furnishings and dimmed yellowish lighting to create a relaxed vibe.
Coffee is definitely a must-have beverage here, so I went for the Flat White (RM13) as usual. The coffee here definitely did not disappoint me. As for brunch, I ordered Common Man Veggie Wonderland (RM39)- two free-range organic eggs in any style, halloumi, sauteed spinach, herbed roma tomato, portobello mushrooms, avocado, lemon & chilli with artisanal wholemeal sourdough. The portion was really huge and it was good for sharing.

I really liked the food and coffee here so I decided to pay a visit for the second time. This time, I had Common Man Full Breakfast (RM40)- two free-range organic eggs in any style, chicken spanish sausage, chicken ham (supposed to be grilled streaky beef but I can't eat beef), herbed roma tomato, portobello mushrooms, baked beans, vegetable rosti & minted sour cream with artisanal wholemeal sourdough. This was like a meat version of Common Man Veggie Wonderland. Another huge portion dish, I really liked the poached eggs, portobello mushrooms and the sausage.
The other dish that I ordered was Chipotle Chicken Sandwich (RM37)- toasted ciabatta bread with marinated cajun, kale, radicchio, avocado, dressing with hot chipotle sauce & Japanese mayo served with fries. This wasn't their signature dish but it turned out to be good. A combination of good stuff packed into one! Loved the taste of the cajun chicken with hot chipotle sauce. However, the coffee turned out to be milder during my second visit...

Common Man is one of my favorite cafe in KL but their menu is quite pricey compared to other cafe. The bright side is the portion of the food is actually huge, so it is perfect for sharing, especially for small-eaters. Hopefully they get their coffee quality back on track the next time I visit. This cafe is good for dates and friends gathering with their round tables. It can be crowded during lunch, so better head early to avoid queue. Don't forget to check out their menu below!
