"Salon" Dining Area

[Date Visited: November 2021]

DC Restaurant is a multi award winning Modern French restaurant located in the suburbs of TTDI. Each floor houses a different experience, inspired by the same spirit of innovation. G floor: "Le Comptoir"- the counter; 1st Floor: "La Salle"- main dining area, "Salon"- primate rooms for intimate dining space; 2nd Floor: LOUIS XIII Special Red Rooms, Moonbar dining, cocktails and tapas. The owner, Chef Darren Chin has cooked professionally for 14 years and trained in France for 2 years. Check out their Festive Menu Here! I had the 4 Course Menu that cost RM398++/pax.

Chateau Cantenac Brown 2010 Red Wine (RM790)
Comment: Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot.Bold, full-bodied but still easy to drink, pairs really well with the red meat. Slightly sweet, dense and tannins are present.

Caviar butter with assortment of breads and pastries
Comment: Love the pastries as usual, especially the croissant! Crispy, flaky and buttery, so good!

Amuse Bouche- Mini tartlet with mackerel and radish cream; Parmesan cookie and white onion.
Comment: I prefer the parmesan cookie which is creamy, rich and cheesy whereas the mackerel tartlet is slightly fishy.

Tempura Hokkaido Scallops- Aged black vinegar, fermented apple extraction, cucumber, dill, oyster aioli
Comment: Crispy skin with fresh, juicy and super huge scallop in the middle. Unique taste unlike any other scallop dish out there, a combination of sour and savoury flavor with a hint of sweetness. Great starter to start with.

Tempura Hokkaido Scallops- Aged black vinegar, fermented apple extraction, cucumber, dill, oyster aioli

"Echo of the Sea" V2- Uni, king crab, warm somen noodles, DC's truffle sauce and shisho.
Comment: DC's signature dish. Slightly different compared to the one I had one year ago, I still prefer the previous one. I prefer capellini over somen noodles. Taste slightly different as well but still delicious, appetizing!

Truffle Brie Sandwich- Wild flower honey, pane carasao
Comment: Cheese sandwich with sweet honey as a palate cleanser.

Roasted Rack of Lamb- Braised celeriac, roasted sunflower seed emulsion, daikon in black bean sauce
Comment: Portion is smaller compared to the lamb dish I had one year ago and overall, I still prefer the lamb dish they served last year. The lamb is really tender but I think the taste could be better. Lack of specialty.

Miyazaki A5 chateaubriand- Grilled asparagus, grapefruit reduction, smoked lemon mayonnaise, pommes anna (Additional RM168)
Comment: No comment as I don't eat beef.

Cheese Trolley

Le Fromage- 5 types of A.O.P cheeses and fresh wild flower honeycomb
Comment: I am a fan of hard cheese instead of soft cheese. Just ask for their recommendation and they will recommend the good ones.

Exotic Pavlova- Banana bavaroise, exotic fruits, charcoal meringue, lemongrass foam
Comment: Definitely looks unusual compared to the normal pavlova in white. However, it doesn't taste sweet at all except the meringue part which suit to my liking. Can taste a lot of fruits, banana and cream in it. Pretty extraordinary and good.

Exotic Pavlova- Banana bavaroise, exotic fruits, charcoal meringue, lemongrass foam

Mignardises- Canele
Comment: I don't understand why they serve half piece for one person instead of one full piece.

I had visited DC twice, the food quality and service are still well-maintained. No doubt a super romantic fine dining place for couple dates, also suitable for family and friends gatherings. Make sure you book at least one month in advance for the Moonbar dining area. Do check out my Instagram highlights for the 1st DC experience back in November 2020.
