As a fan of croissant, I was really excited to try the croissants that Flakes had to offer. Flakes is located in The Hub SS2, a trending spot for instagram shots. If you are looking for a place to chill, get a cup of coffee, read a book while enjoying your brunch, this might be a place to go to.

Flakes serve all-day breakfast, mains, pastries and desserts. You may check out their Menu here. As a "starter", I ordered Pistachio Croissant (RM 9) and Matcha Croissant (RM7). Pistachio croissant tasted nice but Matcha croissant was quite a disappointment because the filling was too little and the matcha taste was light. As a fan of matcha, I was expecting the filling to flow out once I cut it into half but it didn't, it was just one thin layer of matcha filling. I had tasted one back in Sydney and that was the best. Besides, it would be better if the croissants were more flaky and buttery. The texture of the croissants was just normal. For beverages, I ordered a cup of White: House Blend Coffee (RM10) and a glass of Kombucha (RM14). Surprisingly, the House Blend Coffee didn't have an aromatic kick, it was just normal coffee. For Kombucha...I had tried better Kombucha out there. I usually prefer it comes in a bottle.
For lunch, I ordered one of their bestsellers which is the Crabmeat Scrambled Eggs (RM23). I really liked this one because I could really find pieces of crabmeat in there and the taste was awesome, the scrambled eggs were perfectly done as well. Another dish was Avocado Scrambled eggs (RM16) + Salmon (Optional: RM5). This dish had the best soft and creamy texture for its scrambled eggs! I loved the texture a lot and I kept wanting more of its rich egg taste. You could really see the difference in texture between this dish's scrambled eggs and the crabmeat's. That portion of scrambled eggs was really huge, somehow being the highlight of that dish instead of avocado and salmon. I prefer the texture of these 2 dishes' croissants which were more flaky compared to the ones above.

Overall, I was satisfied with the food in Flakes. There could be room for improvement since croissants are their highlights. Flakes can be crowded at times, I would recommend you to make a reservation before you go because I had to wait for 25mins to get a table on Monday. Do check out Flakes if you are looking for a satisfying brunch with good scrambled eggs!
