Opened in 2020, Hide KL is a chef’s table
restaurant located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The
kitchen and dining room share a same open space, enabling the guests to
interact and see the team making the dishes to create an intimate and
dynamic experience. Hide is led by Shaun who
was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Upon completing his law
degree in the UK, he decided to pursue cooking professionally instead. Having
spent time learning the culinary arts in the Culinary Institute of
America in New York and honing his crafts in Michelin
starred restaurants like Le Bernardin in New York & Kato in Los
Angeles, he now sets his eyes on creating his own base here in KL.
Hide offer a fixed chefs tasting menu that
features a wide variety of seafood and vegetables, a few meat courses,
and some desserts. Tasting menu in the dining room consists
of predominantly fish and shellfish while also taking inspirations
from all cuisines and techniques across the world. With a notice of 3
days, they are happy to adjust the menu to accommodate guests with certain
dietary restrictions. The menu we had is Hide's Autumn Menu (RM650++/pax).

Comment: Very refreshing, citrusy and sour taste but it triggers my appetite, lovely dish!
Australian Black Winter Truffle | Tapioca w additional Uni
Comment: Super unique dish! A combination of cold and hot ingredients. Crispy exterior with soft and moist filling in the middle. Uni adds creamy texture to it. Love this dish!
Hokkaido Scallop | Conpoy | Egg Custard
Comment: Taste similar to Chinese style of cooking, fresh scallop with smooth egg custard.
Fukuoka Amadai | Shiso | Onion
Comment: Nice, delicious crispy scales with soft meat texture, sweet and savoury!
Chiba Kuromutsu | Caucciucco
Comment: Char-grilled black cod, taste and texture wise are extremely perfect, super on point, tasty and soft texture.
Irish Duck 'Siew Yok' | Heirloom Radish | Citrus
Comment: Tender and tasty duck meat with citrus duck jus, lovely!
Burnt Orange | Elderflower (Palate Cleanser)
Coconut | Pineapple
Comment: My favorite first dessert, fragrant coconut aroma with strong pineapple flavor.
Peach | Lychee | Forest Fruit
Comment: too sweet for me and the cake is dry
Chocolate | Passionfruit | Hazelnut
Comment: Rich and smooth chocolate with passionfruit to cover up the sweetness, perfect dessert to end the course.
Orange Chocolate Bonbon and Raspberry Macaron
Hide is a fine dining restaurant that fits people who are seeking fun and diversity in each and every dishes that you won't find it elsewhere. Do not expect privacy if you are dining here because everyone will be sitting at the Chef's table. However, you will definitely impress your date if you choose to bring them to Hide!
