[Date Visited: July 2021]The founders of Robataya Izakaya wants to bring the most authentic way of Japanese charcoal grill to the diners. Many Japanese restaurants use the modern way of charcoal grill which does not retain the juiciness of the meat. The founders went to Japan and was impressed by a century old restaurant which was using an "irori" to grill meats. An "irori" is a sunken hearth (fireplace) built at the centre of homes of the Japanese many years ago. It is used for cooking or to keep warm during winter. An izakaya is a type of informal gastropub. It is a casual place for after work drinking in Japan. Robataya serve a wide variety of alcoholic beverages and many food items in the menu are designed to be shred. The taste of their dished are also more robust in order to pair with the alcoholic drinks. Robataya Izakaya is also one of the few Japanese restaurants which serve fresh air-flown seafood imported directly from Japan. Check out their Menu for a wide selection of Japanese food.
