Skillet at 163 was first opened in 2015, undergone some renovation and reopened with a stylish look. They serve Modern European cuisine that is fun and creative whereby they mix and match the seasonal ingredients of the European continent. If you wish to discover something different and unique, something you won't find elsewhere, Skillet at 163 is the right place to explore!
We decided to visit Skillet for lunch and we were fortunate enough to be seated at the glasshouse with natural lighting that was warm and cozy. For lunch, guests will be able to choose a 2-Course Lunch (RM75/pax) or a 3-Course Lunch (RM88/pax). Additional charges are applicable to certain items on the menu. You can also order the dishes from the course menu as ala-carte. We opted for the 2-Course Lunch.

For a start, we were presented with Amuse Bouche (Potato Tarts) and Sourdough Bread with Truffle Butter. I love the truffle butter, always a big fan of truffle! As for appetizer, I had Pumpkin (Pumpkin Foam, Duck Bacon & Salted Egg Yolk) which was one of their signature dishes. Gotta say I love this soup! It was so GOOD! The broth was so rich, creamy and flavorful with sweet pumpkin and savoury salted egg yolk taste. I wished I could have more of that. Meanwhile, we had Salmon (Beetroot, Seaweed, Ikura) as the second appetizer. Based on the photo below, tiny cubes of salmon were actually hidden under the blanket of beetroot. It was a beautiful presentation, taste was okay but I wished the portion could be bigger.

Then, I had Seafood (Clam Stock Risotto, Prawn & Calamari) as the main course. This dish is ideal for people who love strong flavors. The risotto was rich with clam stock, creamy, tasty and cooked to perfection. Next, we had Duck (Spiced Duck Leg, Pumpkin Puree & Cherry) as the second main course. It was tender, perfectly grilled but I wished it could be bigger and the taste of the mashed potato could be stronger as I am not a fan of plain mashed potato.

Overall, I was satisfied with the lunch at Skillet. Food was great from presentation to quality. I guess it would be sufficient for a small-eater but not for a big-eater. I would recommend this place for white-collar to have lunch gathering, even perfect for celebrations.
