Tapestry is an event space, interlacing flavours, weaving old into new, featuring Rise & Shine, offering Australian-inspired brunch with Malaysian flavours, and Tapestry Dining, a modern western grill concept. Rise & Shine by Tapestry, was the first dining concept launched, featuring classic brunch dishes, intertwining Malaysian heritage with modernity, bringing you the perfect blend of East meets West. Right in the beating heart of Chow Kit, this is their tribute to the area that comes alive every morning as a favourite breakfast spot for many KL-ites. To the local wet market, or the kopitiam that has been around for generations, our rendition of sarapan includes locally-sourced produce, home-made breads and passionately-brewed coffee.
Flat White (RM13)
Comment: My fav kind of flat white, strong, fragrant, smooth and roasty.
Long Black (RM11)
Comment: Dark roast and fragrant, a good cup of coffee.
Tropical Juice (RM12)- Passion fruit, pineapple, green apple
Grilled Banana Bread w pumpkin kaya and almond butter (RM25)
Comment: Texture is a little similar to banana cake. Goes well with the pumpkin kaya. Everything is homemade.
Bangers & Hash (RM32)- Potato hash w salt beef, lamb sausages, poached egg and bunga kantan hollandaise
Comment: Taste pretty good but not the "wow" type. Pretty good kind of brunch to start the day with. Filling. Wasn't satisfied with the egg though, not as perfect as what I've expected.
Pan-Seared Chicken (RM26)- Golden mashed potatoes, roasted medley vegetables, 'Au jus'
Comment: Swapped the mashed potatoes w more vegetables to avoid carbs overload. Love the chicken, juicy, tender chicken meat w crispy skin but the portion of the chicken is a little small.
Horchata Smoothie (RM23)- Banana, pineapple smoothie w almond butter, toasted Hawaiian coconut, granola, mixed berries, pomegranate and chia seeds
Comment: My perfect kind of smoothie, all just blend well together w all sorts of different textures and natural sweetness. Yum!
Be sure to make a reservation before you head over there to grab brunch. It is usually crowded even on weekdays.
