Willow is an elegant restaurant with an open bar located on the 8th floor of the funky 5-star W Hotel Kuala Lumpur right in the heart of KLCC. Willow sits right next to the iconic PETRONAS Twin Towers. Willow is an ideal venue for any elevated social engagement whether it be an intimate occasion or celebratory event. The food and drink at Willow is not restricted to any specific region or category of sustenance. That limitless freedom to create is the very motivation for Head Chef Lroy Lim and Head Bartender Osmund Bernard’s innovative menu – which unites ingredients from across the globe and furnishes those flavours into joyous dishes and beverages which are exclusive to Willow.
In their menu, Willow offers 3 Course Prefix Menu (RM230/pax), Five Course Omakase (RM380/pax), Seven Course Omakase (RM530/pax) and ala-carte menu. We had the Five Course Omakase (RM380/pax). However, the chef selects the items available on the ala-carte menu.
Sourdough Bread with Salted Butter and Seaweed Butter
Comment: Not a fan of seaweed butter but the texture of the sourdough bread was great
Amuse Bouche
Tomato Tart (RM64) with anchovy mascarpone, Cameron Highlands heirloom tomatoes & tomato water
Comment: There was 3 types of tomatoes: marinated, pickled, and fresh. Adding the
buffalo mozzarella made this a perfect starter
Hokkaido Scallop (RM98 ala carte)- Pan seared scallop with lemongrass veloute, chili oil, sea foam & seaweed
Comment: The scallops were fresh and sweet but I think it could be better in terms of taste wise, richer would be fine
Keladi Rice (RM58 ala carte)- Miso, pickled shallots, dehydrated watermelon and puffed rice
Comment: Overall, it was good, not too rich but flavorful enough.
Cod (RM138 ala carte)- Cod, miso glaze, lotus root chips & spiced oxtail broth
Comment: Delicate dish with the cod melts in your mouth, it taste really delicious with the light miso. Pre dessert- Sorbet
Apple (RM54 ala carte)- Caramelized apple, almond financier & vanilla chantilly
Comment: I didn't like the taste of caramelized apple, so I took out the apple and ate the almond financier & vanilla chantilly
Yuzu (RM56 ala carte)- Variations of yuzu, olive oil sorbet & perilla granita.
Comment: This dessert was really normal, nothing fancy.

I enjoyed the starters and the main but I didn't enjoy the desserts at all in which I find it disappointing. However, food was appealing in terms of presentation, taste and ingredients. Hope to see more creative menu in the future. No doubt Willow's elegant ambience is a perfect spot to go for when you are choosing a romantic dinner spot with Petronas Twin Tower as the background.
